The external focus group consists of representatives from non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders. Their role is to provide input and feedback on the housing, community development, and economic needs of the population, particularly for those most affected by poverty, housing instability, and other community challenges.

Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Application Workshop

It is an essential event designed to guide potential applicants—such as non-profit organizations, local government agencies, community-based organizations and microbusinesses (less than 10 employees) —through the process of applying for CDBG funding as part of the new Consolidated Plan and connected Annual Action Plan for the upcoming funding cycle. The workshop also helps with new program or new project eligibility determination. This is not a Consolidated Plan activity but a CDBG Program activity.

Edgewater Farm Park

Edgewater Farm Park is a 38-acre farm in Huntersville. This space will become the first Mecklenburg County property dedicated to the Farmland Preservation Plan. The farm is currently undergoing a Master Planning effort to help shape the future of the site.
