This is the official notice of the Primary Election on May 14th 2024.

Approximately 40,350 Mecklenburg County property owners who have delinquent 2023 real and personal property tax bills will have their names and the principal amount they owe published, as required by state law, in The Charlotte Observer, on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Bills paid after Feb. 29, 2024, may be included in the advertisement. 

A pillar of Mecklenburg County government and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community has died. Former County Manager Gerald G. “Jerry” Fox passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the age of 91.

Over two nights in March 2024, Mecklenburg County residents came together to learn more about behavioral and mental health and join the effort to make things better for their neighbors. The sessions were part of Mecklenburg’s “County Conversations” series, giving residents the opportunity to listen, learn, and share about how they feel about mental health issues and how Mecklenburg County can help.

Mecklenburg County Child, Family, and Adult Services is hosting its 11th annual “Summer Experience Fair,” giving families an opportunity to explore options to keep busy this summer. It’s a time for children, teens, and parents to learn more about the summer camp and educational opportunities available this summer as well as seasonal employment. The fair will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (drop-in), at the  Valerie C. Woodard Center on Freedom Drive in Charlotte.

Hickory Grove Recycling Center may experience delays starting Monday, March 25, 2024, through Tuesday, April 2, 2024, due to maintenance.

Mecklenburg County offices and services will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2024, for the Good Friday holiday.
